Modern liberalism == new-age poison-pill?
Not sure exactly how to approach this subject so going to jump straight in; back in my day, liberal Democrat was where you stood to stand against the man, rage against the machine, and slam heads with the elites. Now, it seems everything has gone topsy-turvy, and everything has pretty much shifted 180 degrees!
For starters, the Democratic party are the modern-day rich elites! Hard to find it as genuine when they preach that they fight for the little guy from their giant mansions up on the hill, while we the peons are drowning in all the messes and catastrophes they can't stop making.
Further, the echoing voice of "conformity" and what you *must* subscribe to in order to be "hip" is continually hollered from the left like a whaling banshee. Used to be back 30+ years ago, the religious conservatism was crammed down your throat like a regular dose of our daily bread; don't get me wrong, way back then I was more agnostic than atheist, I wanted to believe there was a God, but wasn't quite ready yet to dive into my daily biblical calisthenics. Yet, after systematically driving religion into the shadows and screeching that they don't want to be forever preached to on how to live, it'd seem that now the freaking left can't stop preaching, ALL THE TIME, how everybody should live... how's that for totally insane irony!? (And now ironically the SANEST places to exist is on the conservative Republican right and within the embrace, for the most part, of Christian religion.)
But even more than that, I truly believe there's something else at work lately... it's called "intersectionalism". Sure they convinced the sheep that it was supposed to be a progressive think-tank of liberal ideas, but don't be fooled, turns out that it's instead a means of corraling the blind, in order to selectively zap out certain viewpoints while forcing the collective to all adopt the same agenda. After all, 20-30+ years ago, liberalism was basically chaos... it could worship Charles Manson, believe in Bigfoot, Elvis, UFOs, Lach Ness Monster, and the ghost of Jimmy Hoffa, even when the masses shouted that they weren't real. But notice modern liberalism and how every chant is a monotone chorus of words without any real melody, music, or even commitment to the causes they virtue-signal to champion; while the craziest of liberal Democratic deeply rooted beliefs, again, like Manson worshippers, drift off, unaccounted for to keep melting down and blowing up all over the country!
There's also been another complete flip in something else that quite frankly rather ticks me off. Ya see, in my day those that were freakishly smart got picked on. Called dweeb, nerd, geek, loser, poindexter, four-eyes, etc... I've heard them all. Even picked on more-so for the accused "basement-dwellers" that were overly savvy in tech, see tech wasn't quite cool yet back then. However, now, tech has become the new "cool", and now all the self-proclaimed cool kids jump on it because it trends or because all their cool friends have it, typically to web browse, dive hard into social media, or be a moron on the internet while being completely clueless to the actual potential of the tech they possess (not to mention the tech moguls constantly reinventing the wheel in ways that are unnecessary, dumb, or outright insulting).
The internet has now become overrun with 75-90% garbage because of it, while those of us who originally pioneered the internet were shamed into oblivion, while those that shamed are now the internet addicts (haha hypocrites, serves y'all right)! There's even special "geek" clothing lines, Casio has "geek" branded watches, people wear fake eyeglasses, along with go out of their way to prove to you they're the smartest person in the room like the eager kid in a second grade classroom trying to touch the ceiling while raising their hand, eager to peacock their knowledge for the entire room to witness and become inferioir to.
The reason it ticks me off, somewhat as stated, I was one of the original nerds, forever picked on, until the age of 12, where only semi voluntarily did I hit weight lifting, martial arts, wrestling, and boxing hard, in order to fend off the endless onslaught of bullies, to only have tech and intelligence become the new hipster-dipster everything-gnarly a decade or so later, and now to become viewed as a barbaric thug because the built up muscles are huge, and am now called "too manly" and not effeminate enough... what in the utter !@#$ is up with that!? Not to mention we're all now supposed to be addicted to hugs, politically correct, sensitivity trained to everything and anything, and forever hugging a tree!
Look, point of this whole rant is this: be true to who you are, don't be a snowflake drinking the hipster-liberal kool-aid just because you think it'll initiate you into being on the same level with the rest of your fake and phoney "friends". When everyone is completely identical it's boring as !@#$, faux imitation-geniuses and bogus knowitalls are a dime a dozen, and the new age liberal screeching and shrieking is totally not some poetically romantic serenade... you only have one life, don't waste it being a fake poser, be real and true to you!
